Over a year since the dominating release of their tenth studio LP, Honor Found In Decay, the unstoppable NEUROSIS has locked down two new performances in their ongoing, sporadic live ceremonies in support of the album.
The newly-confirmed duo of concerts will take place at the cusp of the New Year, both in California, and both feature very special guests. NEUROSIS will first storm into Santa Ana on December 28th, then occupying their Bay Area origin once again the next evening, performing in San Francisco on December 29th. Both of these performances will feature direct support from Santa Cruz hardcore legends, Bl’ast — recently reunited, and here, performing their first live shows in over fifteen years — as well as mighty psychedelic doom trio, YOB. Additional opening support on the Orange County show will be provided by Helen Money, and the San Fran gig will showcase The Body leading off the night’s actions.
NEUROSIS has already announced their upcoming plans to invade Portland, Oregon with support from Tragedy, The Body and Atriarch on November 23rd, as well as two performances in Montreal January 18th and 19th alongside Godspeed You! Black Emperor — their first Canadian shows in nearly twenty years — followed by a set at the first inaugural Temples Festival in Bristol, UK in May. Other live actions will be declared as time continues to erode the calendar in the weeks before us.

This week, NEUROSIS confirms two new upcoming live performances as the quintet continues to steadily infiltrate new audiences with material from their lauded tenth LP, Honor Found In Decay.
These newly locked performances, set to take place on January 18th and 19th at the Metropolis in Montreal, Canada, will see NEUROSIS co-headlining the stage with Godspeed You! Black Emperor both evenings. What makes the performances that much more special is the fact that the duo of shows will mark the first time NEUROSIS has performed on Canadian soil in nearly a decade-and-a-half. Tickets for these two shows are on sale now at www.blackdotpresents.com and at the following stores at regular opening hours: Phonopolis, Sound Central, L'oblique, Sonik, Profusion, Atom Heart and Cheap Thrills.
Previous communiqués from NEUROSIS have also confirmed the band's presence in Portland, Oregon, playing the Rosleand Theater Saturday, November 23rd. This exclusive Pacific Northwest engagement presented by Mike Thrasher will also feature an incredible support bill, including Tragedy, The Body and Atriarch. NEUROSIS is also the first band confirmed to partake in the maiden booking of the Temples Festival, May 3rd in Bristol, UK; a heavy music event covering a broad range of genres within the heavy music spectrum, featuring key international and domestic artists with equal focus.
Since 1985, NEUROSIS surpassed the boundaries of any genre, never ceasing to mutate and progress their songwriting and sonic delivery, and never failing to mesmerize audiences both in the studio and onstage. In 2012 their monumental Honor Found In Decay, which went on to receive a wealth of praise the global media. NPR stated of NEUROSIS in an early premiere from the album, "For 27 years, the members of Neurosis have demonstrated what metal can be and what it can aspire to: transcendent, cathartic, graceful, innovative." The band graced the cover of Decibel Magazine, who opined, "Those who prefer their epics harrowing, their atmospheres apocalyptic and their metaphorical gut punches landed squarely on the emotional solar plexus will not be disappointed," with Spin saying Honor Found In Decay, "officially upped the ante for all the post-metal bands who ought to be paying these guys royalties for their patent on psychedelic purgation..." In the UK, Metal Hammer said the album was, "Another spiritual journey into the very heart of mankind. Completely and utterly mind-blowing," and Terrorizer stated in a 5/5 review, "The most stunning aspects of Honor Found In Decay come from NEUROSIS' grasp of dynamics...as ever, in the hands of these uncompromising sorcerers, true heaviness can be as much about the directness as disorientation, and as much about the sinister rumble as an unearthly roar." Once again, Honor Found In Decay reaffirms why NEUROSIS remains one of the most significant heavy acts in existence.
Stay tuned for further transmissions as new live plans develop.

Fresh off their recent two-pronged European tour, NEUROSIS will congregate at a one-off performance in Providence, Rhode Island this Saturday, August 24th.
This special ceremony has been arranged as part of the city-wide NecronomiCon
-- a four-day convention exploring the works of H.P. Lovecraft and
other past and present writers as an exploration of the intersection of
science and art that lays at the foundation of the "Cthulhu Mythos"
genre. NEUROSIS will take the stage at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel to
perform a massive set as part of the festivities, with support from
avant/crushing solo act LUSTMORD. The early show open with the
45-minute silent film, "The Call of Cthulhu," about the Strand Theater
-- now Lupo's -- and how it was Lovecraft's favorite movie theater to
attend.

COMMENTS FROM THE SUPPORT BANDS: "We are really honored to be opening again for Neurosis. To us there is no other thing that makes more sense than playing together. Past, present and future come together in this one moment, there in Karlsruhe. Time dissolves. And Life comes to a halt. There is nothing more powerful than this.” - CHVE, AMENRA "No words can describe how honored we are to be asked to share the stage with Neurosis on their European tour. Their dedication to music and, most of all, their approach to their Art as a spiritual journey has influenced and inspired us greatly in music, and in life." - DARK BUDDHA RISING "After years of being inspired by Neurosis, I am now truly honored to announce that Syndrome will be sharing the stage with them. On June 22nd, I will be the main support for their concert in Lint, Belgium which will be an exclusive Neurosis performance for Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg." - MATHIEU, SYNDROME " Terra Tenebrosa are, as anyone would be, truly honored to be opening for Neurosis. I feel our music, though different in shape and form, is two sides of the same coin. I personally would not be doing what I do today if it weren't for Neurosis, and that is not even close to an overstatement. //Hibernal" - TERRA TENEBROSA "Ufomammut is honoured to share, once again, the stage in Italy with Neurosis: it'll be a great experience of heaviness and vibes for our souls" - URLO, UFOMAMMUT "We feel so honored to open the swiss shows for Neurosis, the band that inspired us for years and which is certainly one of the reasons why Zatokrev exists. For me personally there's probably not a lot out there that could make me more happy than sharing the stage with this group that developed their unique style further through for more than 25 years in such a pure and honest way." - ZATOKREV

It is said that great art has the power to take us outside of ourselves and bring us closer to ourselves simultaneously. Few bands have accomplished this rare feat on a more profound and consistent basis than NEUROSIS. For nearly three decades, their music has touched the hearts and minds of men and women seeking contact with something beyond the physical world, something intangible, something that expresses the inner tumult of the human condition in a way that transcends time and space. Something that not only provokes questions but maybe even hints at answers
Since 1985 this matchless force has surpassed the boundaries of any genre, never ceasing to mutate and progress their songwriting and sonic delivery, and never failing to mesmerize audiences both in the studio and onstage.
In 2012 NEUROSIS returned with the monumental release of their tenth studio album, Honor Found In Decay which went on to receive countless plaudits from the press on a global scale, and was positioned highly in end of year polls - reaffirming why NEUROSIS remains one of the most important heavy acts in existence. Their journey continues with these European tour dates in support of this vital album, and long do we hope their voyage continues into the future...

As NEUROSIS' European tour dates draw near, we now proudly reveal the support acts who will be joining along the way. Some may come as no surprise given that they are part of the Neurot family, whilst others may come as a pleasant surprise. NEUROSIS are extremely happy with the other musicians who will be joining them across the tour, and are delighted that they get to share the stage with different bands that they admire. Without further ado, here are the full details, including information about each support act and their views on performing with NEUROSIS:

While NEUROSIS continues to dominate massive venues in support of their acclaimed tenth studio endeavor, Honor Found In Decay, founding guitarist/vocalist SCOTT KELLY has been touring smaller clubs with his more personal solo material amidst the shows. In addition to his recent American performances as part of CORRECTIONS HOUSE, and recent tours stateside and in Europe as SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME, the latter act will perform a new string of West Coast shows beginning today.
At the firs of the dozen newly confirmed gigs, SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME will perform this Thursday, February 28th on NEUROSIS’ native soil in Oakland, alongside Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) as well as a screening of the DIY record industry film Blood, Sweat & Vinyl. Performances in Santa Cruz, Freson, Santa Ana, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Boise, Spokane, Bellingham, Vancouver, Seattle and Portland will follow.
Dissimilar to his previous solo outings, KELLY sought out additional musicians to help create his latest musical vision, recruiting good friends Greg Dale and Noah Landis (Neurosis), forming SCOTT KELLY AND THE ROAD HOME. The first album by this trio, The Forgiven Ghost In Me, flows with over forty minutes of foreboding Americana showcasing the ever-evolving artist brandishing some of his most expressive hymns of pain, reflection and redemption to date also features guest contributions from Jason Roeder (Neurosis, Sleep) and Josh Graham (A Storm Of Light, ex-Neurosis).

"The trio keeps the vibe slow, stark and intimate throughout, with Kelly's acoustic guitar and weathered voice front and center. He wields the latter like a favorite stiletto... 8/10" - Decibel
"With raw, organic production letting you feel that Kelly and co-conspirators Noah Landis and Greg Dale are in the same room as you - if not actually taking residence somewhere inside your head - the is something achingly frank and grittily real about every note... 9/10" - Outburn
"Kelly’s solo work is no less ominous or atmospheric than his regular gig. He sounds like an apocalyptic troubadour playing in a dusty cowboy bar at the end of the world." - The Onion's A.V. Club
"The Forgiven Ghost in Me does well to move beyond some of the Townes van Zandt-ery of Kelly’s prior solo work – especially that one where, you know, he covered those Townes van Zandt songs – and somehow it makes sense that with the input of the others who appear here, Kelly should wind up with his most human and individualized outing yet." - The Obelisk

As NEUROSIS continues to dominate audiences across the US in support of their commended tenth studio LP, Honor Found In Decay, the band’s impending performances in Denver, Colorado and Austin, Texas are now only days away.
Opening support for NEUROSIS’ show at Denver’s Summit Music Hall on Saturday, February 16th will be provided by locally-based instrumental heavy rock quintet Native Daughters, as well as folk//gospel-inspired Americana of Munly & The Lupercalians, featuring Jay Munly of Slim Cessna's Auto Club.
NEUROSIS’ Emo’s East show in Austin Sunday, February 17th will feature opening support from Little Rock, Arkansas’ apocalyptic sludge harbingers Rwake. Direct support will be provided by legendary Houston-based noise/industrial punks The Pain Teens! Having only reunited for a Trance Syndicate label reunion in late 2012, the eclectic act’s special performance will significantly enhance the evening, as The Pain Teens and NEUROSIS have not shared the stage since 1991.
On the Summer solstice, NEUROSIS is confirmed to take part in 2013’s installment of the massive Hellfest festival in Clisson, France. The gathering runs from June 21st through 23rd, and will see NEUROSIS sharing the stage with Kiss, ZZ Top, Down, Bad Religion, At The Gates, Kreator and hundreds more.

The anticipated deluxe vinyl version of Honor Found In Decay is out now! Released via Relapse/Neurot the massive 2xLP edition is packaged in a Stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket and accompanied by a 16-page LP-sized booklet. The audio was cut directly from the original studio master tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, available in five different colors: 2000 on black, 1000 on translucent smoke grey, 500 on translucent yellow, 500 on translucent orange, and 100 on clear, not available to the public.
The next round of live performances from the mighty NEUROSIS draws near, as the outfit prepares to invade the Northeast for shows in Brooklyn and Philadelphia next week.
Next Saturday, January 19th NEUROSIS will return to the historic Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, the venue they nearly tore to the ground when they last played in New York with a pair of shows in early 2008 with openers Mastodon. On this trek the opening support for NEUROSIS will be provided by the scathing drum/guitar attack of ex-Khanate/Khlyst duo James Plotkin and Tim Wyskida on their new experimental venture in auditory torture.
The following day, Sunday January 20th, the quintet will devastate audiences in Philadelphia’s cavernous Union Transfer venue, marking the first NEUROSISperformance to hit the city since late 2004! Opening support for this special show will come from the solo act of John Baizley of Baroness. This will mark one of the very first performances from Baizley since before the massive bus crash the band has been recovering from slowly since mid-August.
Opening support for NEUROSIS’ following live actions next month in Denver and Austin have also been confirmed, with Native Daughters and Jay Munly leading the festivities in Denver on February 16th, and the brutal billing of Eyehategod and Rwake kicking things off at the Austin show on the 17th. NEUROSIS treated spectators in their native hometown of Oakland to a free, invite-only concert on New Year’s Day, catching many longtime fans by surprise. View new live footage of the performance and more below.
